As a company that specialises in steel distribution, the Southern Steel Group is in a unique position to meet all the supply requirements of the steel and engineering industry.

Southern Steel Supplies began trading in 1947, and today has grown to become one of the largest steel distributors in New South Wales, with head office in Sydney's West and regional branches in Newcastle, Wollongong, Tamworth and now Dubbo, and extensive plate profiling facilities conveniently located in Revesby in Sydney's West. Our Cash and Carry centres offer the complete range of Southern's products to the home handy man, or tradesmen.

Southern Sheet and Coil began trading in 1987, offering a wide range of of bulk and slit coil and sheet products to the market. They have grown to service the east coast of Australia from their Sydney, Brisbane and Newcastle locations.

Surdex Steel was established in 1952 by founder Reg Geary, first trading from the back of the family dry cleaning business. It grew strongly since then, and joined the Southern Steel Group in 1988. Today Surdex offers a full range of steel products through their extensive branch network with 13 locations in Melbourne and throughout regional Victoria. With comprehensive sheet, plate and structural processing capabilities, no other business can match the service of Surdex Steel.

RJE joined the Southern Steel Group in September 2000, and brought with them over 40 years of engineering experience. With its state of the art machinery and highly skilled workforce, RJE offers unrivalled engineering services to the Australian market.

Brice Metals joined the Southern Steel Group in 2001. With over 40 years experience servicing South Australia with Sheet and Coil products with a strong focus on the automotive and manufacturing industry, they were well placed to move into the structural market which they successfully accomplished in 2007 with the opening of a modern distribution facility in Cavan.

In 2001 Southern Steel Group founded Australian Construction Products, who have rapidly grown to become Australia's second largest manufacturer and supplier of road safety products. They offer an extensive range of permanent and temporary road safety equipment.

WA Cutting Services joined the Southern Group in 2007, bringing with them a wealth of experience and expertise in plate profiling to the WA steel market.

In early 2008 Southern Steel Group opened their new distribution centre, Southern Steel (WA) in Kwinana, now offering Southern's complete range of products and services to the West Australian market for the first time.
